Hopes are high for Tayba to win Emerald Cup

Champion trainer Mike de Kock Tayba has always regarded Tayba as a talented filly but she has taken a while to shine.

Only since she was tried out on the Vaal sand-track has Tayba started to perform, and she is unbeaten in three starts on the Vaal sand, the course on which the Grade 2 Emerald Cup will be run.

1 200 metres and this event is run over 1 450 metres, says Mathew De Kock.

Tayba is owned by Dubai-based Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and will be ridden by apprentice Julius Mariba.
