Flamingo Park is not a place renowned for stand out bets but Pampierstad with Muzi Yeni up in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1600m, is virtually impossible to oppose and can certainly serve as a confident banker for Place Accumulators and BiPots.
Returning from a nine-month rest on his local debut a month ago Pampierstad stayed on 1.2-lengths off River Rafter, and sandwiched between subsequent winners Obladi Oblada and U Reign.
When the latter of those won a week later he defeated the only opposition here with any respectable form Seventh Saint and Sacred Fort. Pampierstad had seen U Reign off by almost five lengths and should now strip a lot fitter so in reality the Australian-bred gelding should have a good few lengths to spare.
The three-year-old Tokimonsta has a couple of well beaten thirds to his credit and is another who could earn, but was beaten out of sight by our selection in the River Rafter race. The balance, frankly, make no appeal, although obviously any betting support for sole first timer Jan Van Dam should be respected.
The value bet comes up in the fifth, where Jozi Babe was available at 10-1 at the time of writing. The versatile mare returns from a short rest but should be excused a rare poor effort last time, and if near best should challenge strongly in this FM 68 event.
Top weights Euan’ Me and Lady Duchess stand out in the list of potential dangers, while all of Over Achiever, Fly Rebecca Fly, Ms Holly Golightly and Rock Burner need to be considered for exotics as well.
Strongest race of the day is a Pinnacle over 1000m, and this is a race where you can go short in my view. Both Easy To Please and the filly Fatal Attraction have been dominant over the minimum trip recently and should fight this out, with a slight preference for the latter.
