Gadsby has visions of better luck
Best of the others are Great Dictator, Beaufort, Epic Sword and Lucara.
Trainer Paul Gadsby will justifiably be hoping for better luck with three-year-old Vision Of Trust who teams up with Stuart Randolph again and has a bright chance to strike in Race 1 at the Greyville Polytrack tonight in a Maiden Plate over 1000m.
The gelding had Randolph aboard in his three runs over 1000m this season when a fast-finishing third at Scottsville, and then next time when sent off favourite at the Greyville Polytrack he was cramped in the running but still managed to finish second.
Worse was to follow in his subsequent outing as he was switched for a clear run and also bumped, but ran on gamely to finish a close second. If he steers clear of trouble this time he should repay his followers.
Best of the others are Great Dictator, Beaufort, Epic Sword and Lucara.
Louis Goosen-trained Di Mazzio (Gunter Wrogemann) looks the best bet of the meeting in Race 2, a MR 82 Handicap over 1200m. Wrogemann knows what is required as he was aboard this Australian-bred four-year-old five times for three wins and a third – the last of which was a splendid double over the course and distance. Gavin Lerena had ride in the gelding’s subsequent run when a game second in the 1200m KZN Summer Challenge at Scottsville. However, reunited with Wrogemann he should retain his unbeaten record at the Polytrack. He could be followed home by Al Ciberano, Founding Father and Penultimate.
Wrogemann also has a good chance of success in Race 4 aboard Dennis Bosch-trained Symphony In Seven who contests a Maiden Plate (Fillies and Mares) over 1400m.
This three-year-old comes off two promising runs at the Polytrack where she was second over 1000m with Keagan de Melo up and then a fast-finishing runner-up over 1200m with apprentice Ashton Arries up.
Her wide draw should not be a concern as she had coped well from a similar draw in her last run. Others in with claims are Fonteyn, Golden Minaret and Querari Star.
