Dress to kill and win a five-star trip to the races in London
All you have to do is get dressed up to the nines and win the best-dressed competition, which takes place at Cape Town’s Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday.

If an all-expenses paid trip for two to London was on your Christmas wish list this year and Santa didn’t deliver, don’t despair.
You have a second chance in 2019 – not from Santa but the organisers of the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate.
The organisers have urged all guests to comply with the blue-and-white dress code if they want to win the prize, so dress appropriately.
The winning woman and her partner will enjoy return flights from South Africa to London, a five-night stay at a wonderful hotel during the British summer and two tickets to attend the L’Ormarins luncheon at the Qatar Glorious Goodwood Racing Festival on Friday, August 2.
The second best-dressed woman will win a Cartier trinity cord and the third-placed contestant a Cartier fragrance.
The Queen’s Plate has been dubbed the most stylish event on the racing calendar – and rightfully so.
Last year, the long list of celebrities on the course included media personality Bonang Matheba, Isibaya actress Nomzamo Mbatha and platinum-selling rapper Riky Rick, to name but a few.
Even if you don’t win the trip, you are guaranteed a magnificent day at the races, accompanied by lots of champagne. Multiple Equus horse-of-the-year champion Legal Eagle will attempt to register a fourth consecutive victory in the Queen’s Plate.
Men, don’t feel left out, because the event hosts a two-day festival, which affords male fashionistas the opportunity to win luxurious items.
On Friday, the best-dressed man will take home a fancy Cartier money clip, the runner-up a Cartier passport holder and, just like the women’s competition, a Cartier fragrance will be awarded to the third-placed man.
Spotters will be roaming the grounds for the best part of the afternoon, identifying and taking photographs of potential winners. Racegoers will be shortlisted for the best-dressed prize and will be contacted and told where to be and at what time.
Those going to the Queen’s Plate have one week to put their best look together. So go big …
