Application was made by the Kwazulu-Natal Bookmakers Society ("KZNBS") to the Gauteng High Court claiming damages in respect of copyright infringement by Phumelela Gaming and Leisure Limited ("Phumelela") and Gold Circle (Proprietary) Limited ("Gold Circle").

Phumelela and Gold Circle excepted to the KZNBS’ particulars of claim contending that the particulars of claim are vague and embarrassing.
In the judgement handed down today the court ruled in favour of Phumelela and Gold Circle and ordered that their legal costs be paid by the KZNBS.”
