Dennis Bosch-trained Collabro has a bright chance to post a fourth career win when teamed up with top-flight Anton Marcus at the Greyville Polytrack today and contesting Race 5, a MR 76 Handicap over 1400m.
This five-year-old, who is yet to be unplaced in six starts since joining Bosch’s stable, was a gutsy winner under 60.5kg three runs back in a 1600m MR 72 Handicap at the Polytrack.
This consistent gelding will be much fitter this time and with log-leading Marcus aboard for the first time the combination should be in the winner’s enclosure.
However, he will have to watch out for Andre Nel-trained Red Shi (Gareth Wright) who is also a consistent three-time winner.
The pick of the remainder are Euphoric, Elusive Wolf and Arch-illes.
Marcus has a bright chance of success in Race 3 when partnering Robbie and Shannon Hill-trained Hey Jude in a Maiden Plate (F&M) over 1400m.
This three-year-old deserves to be rewarded as she has never finished further back than third in her four starts this season.
She should not miss this time over the extra distance.
Race 4 could see Marcus come to light aboard the Glen Kotzen-trained Final Attempt who carries top-weight in a 1400m MR 66 Handicap.
Another bright prospect with Marcus up is Lowan Denysschen-trained High Green.
This Gimmethegreenlight gelding contests Race 7, a 1900m MR 80 Handicap and, after three second places, should recover losses this time when equipped with blinkers.
