Chief Pilot to fly supreme

The Khaya Stables-owned three-year-old looked much improved when runner-up to Captain’s Castle over 2000m at Durbanville this month.

Based on that form line Chief Pilot should have the measure of River Blaze, Exclusive Knight and Waterways and on collateral form lines through Three Balloons, Mambo Square could also be held on form. That leaves the Khaya Stables-bred Celtic Revival as the main threat.

This daughter of Yeats could prefer the longer trip.

The main race of the day is the Final Fling Stakes Grade 3 – Race 7 over 1800m.

Jet Supreme is clearly the best weighted – by 2.50kg and more – but disappointed last time out.

The Jet Master five-year-old mare did not jump on terms when well back behind Lanner Falcon last time out at this course over 1600m.

Jockey Bernard Fayd’Herbe will be taking over the reins of stable jockey from Richard Fourie next month and he is aboard Jet Supreme.

If Jet Supreme does not show what she is capable of then there are others that we must take a look at.

Stable companion Cat And The Moon is versatile distance wise and won a good race last time out.

There was however not much between Cat And The Moon and Crystal Cavern when they have met and both hold place chances.

Alascan Maiden is holding form and deserves respect.
