Blizzard Belle is ready to go right now

Blizzard Belle has got better with each start under the care of Yvette Bremner and has won her last four starts, which included a South African record-breaking time over 1000m in winning her last race.

This Western Winter mare has the form to take Race 2, a Pinnacle Stakes over 1000m at Fairview today, but the race does look competitive.

Jockey S’manga Khumalo was aboard Blizzard Belle for all four of those wins so it is quite surprising to see he has been replaced by 4kg-claiming apprentice Kersley Ramsamy, who has been beaten on all three occasions he had ridden her in the past. It is probably an attempt to take the weight off her back because of the claim he gets.

Khumalo is on the bang in-form Blue Dawn for the first time – who has won her last five starts. Blinkers have worked with Blue Dawn but it will be interesting to see how she does over this minimum trip.

House Of Lorraine has been beaten by both runners mentioned but could be ready to surprise as she could have the race run to suit her.

Trainer Alan Greeff thought Zanzibar Beat would win last time but the filly found The Wild Mistress in a galloping mood and was second best on the day. Jockey Andrew Fortune has been given the opportunity to make up for that defeat and win Race 3, a Maiden Plate, aboard Zanzibar Beat.

Some decent three-year-olds will go to post for Race 6, the Racing Association Sophomore Plate for three-year-olds, and the best of them could be Welsh Emperor.

This Go Deputy colt was unlucky not to win on debut then looked very good when winning his next two starts. These are the toughest rivals he has met to date but he could well be up to it. Fortune will need to use his experience to overcome a wide draw.

King Of Chaos has taken on some very strong fields without success since winning at this course in June last year but has not been disgraced in some of those races. His third-place finish behind Champagne Haze was a very good run.

There has not been much between Memphis Mafia and Fly Like The Wind when they have met and both have to be respected.

The Tara Laing-trained Readytogorightnow may have just needed his last start and should strip a lot fitter this time and gets the vote in Race 8, the Fairview Mile (Non-Black Type) over 1600m. If this Australian-bred runner performs to his best form he will be the one to beat.

Eternal Jet surprised most when winning his latest and gets the benefit of jumping from pole position. Red-hot Ryan Munger on top so he is a danger.

Now back on the turf, Grape Vine is another who has to be respected.
