Some promising and unexposed three-year-olds such as Rap Attack in Race 5, Spanish Captain in Race 6 and Ice Run in Race 8 should give their supporters a good run for their money on the Polytrack at Greyville today

Punters though should check that the meeting is still going ahead with forecasts of rain for Durban and an indication that the meeting could be abandoned if there are too many scratchings.

Rap Attack was not disgraced in a decent Graduation Plate over a distance (1800m) which was probably a touch too far him in his latest and the recently gelded runner has actually dropped two points from that run and is more than capable of winning off this reduced mark considering he was only two lengths back in his penultimate after suffering a saddle sip.

Spanish Captain has won two of his four starts to date and blinkers seemed to be the right thing for him as he was full of running when winning his latest.

His mark of 86 still looks generous and I will not be surprised if he wins this race and a couple more as the Captain Al gelding was full of running in his latest and may be even better over this slightly longer trip.

Stable companion, the improving Ice Run may also be a lot better than his mark of 79 and could be the right one in the lucky last race, a MR 77 Handicap over 1200m.

This Western Winter gelding was full of running to beat subsequent winner Colonel Bling in his penultimate run in November and returned in January to beat Winter Auralius by 1.25 lengths over this course and distance.

The pulling out of Redcarpet Captain of Race 7, a MR 97 Divided Handicap over 1200m seems to have thrown that race wide open.

The Dennis Drier yard is coming back to form and Sea Fever is a better horse than what he showed in his Western Cape campaign.
