Bad news for his rivals is that the rather dubiously named gelding is even deadlier over this trip with four wins from eight attempts, and the 2-1 on offer at the time of writing looks rather generous. The six-year-old is clearly still on the up, and appeals as a Pick 6 banker.
Red Special stands out as the biggest danger. Stephanie Miller’s highly consistent gelding is weighted to beat our selection if their last meeting over this trip in June is interpreted literally. However he is struggling for his next win and jumps from the worst draw with an inexperienced jockey aboard.
The Exacta or Swinger with the likely favourite would seem a relatively safe bet though. Although admittedly such things have been few and far between at this centre in recent weeks!
Bottom weighted outsider Cash In Camilla has the potential to pull off a surprise carrying a mere 50kg. The mare does best over this trip, and is well in at the weights on paper. She merits inclusion in bigger Pick Six and Jackpot perms, as does top weight Kiss Me Hardy, who will have come on from his first run on sand in two years a fortnight ago.
Another who looks to be worth a few shekels on the nose is youngster Bunch Of Thyme in the third. Runner up in her last two she takes a big drop in class and is probably now looking for this trip. She should account for the moderate bunch of fillies she encounters here and is a PA banker.
At the other end of the age scale is veteran Anyday Anytime in the seventh. He needed his first two local outings after a long rest before showing plenty of pace to easily hold off Bunch Of Thyme a month ago. If that one franks the form earlier, then I will be joining the AA and backing this one as well.
