Back to bread and butter racing
After a series of meetings in which decent features were on show, it is back to big fields and competitive racing on the Polytrack at Fairview on today.

There are a couple of runners who could be worth a bet and the first of them is Laws Of Succession in Race 1. The Yvette Bremner-trained three-year-old has improved with every start and unless an outside stall or racing on the Polytrack for the first time is too big a hurdle for him to overcomes, then Stallone Naidoo could be aboard a winner.
Ideal Bloom In Race 4 showed that this Polytrack was more to her liking and was not disgraced when runner-up to very easy winner Smashville over this course and distance last week. The three-year-old Ideal World filly looks to have only Sacred Hills as opposition and another win looks on the card for the Greg Cheyne, Alan Greeff combination.
Winning Edge made a promising local debut when fourth to Placido on the turf course the turf earlier this month and as the gelding won at Greyville on this surface in his previous start he looks the right one in Race 6, a MR 62 handicap over 1600m. JP van der Merwe rides him for the Gavin Smith yard. Their main danger does look to be King Of The Castle who looks much improved recently and who won at this course last time, but over further.
Another much-improved sort, Land Of Meadows, is worth an interest as his recent form has been solid. Two wins and a close-up second to Le Var over this course and distance suggests Justin Snaith’s charge could still be well handicapped. Jockey Robert Khathi will have to overcome a wide draw, though.
