The Captain Al filly is back on the turf where all three of her wins have come. Her last two runs were decent on the alternative surfaces. One of those was when third to Tomorrow’s Miss on the Vaal sand and the other was when she was runner-up to Sakania on the Greyville Polytrack.
Her defeat of stable companion Admiral’s Eye back in January this year sees her 3.50kg better off and she was the victor on that occasion by 2.25 lengths.
Apprentice Donovan Dillon has been carded for Captain’s Daughter with the much more experienced Sean Cormack set to be aboard Admirals’ Eye which is interesting.
Jockey Anton Marcus injured his hand whilst riding Admiral’s Eye last time so that run can be dismissed and her form before that was decent so she will not be an easy pushover.
Supercede was a deserved winner of her latest after a string of places so her confidence must have been boosted and she was only 2.50 lengths behind Admiral’s Eye when they last met. Unfortunately for her supporters though she is 2.50 kg worse off.
Semra from the Mike de Kock yard is another that holds a winning chance. The Grey Jet Master filly has some fair Highveld form.
