Gold for Team SA’s lawn bowlers
South African lawn bowlers Susan Nel (skip), Tracy-Lee Botha, Santjie Steyn and Esme Steyn won a magnificent gold medal for the country when they beat Malaysia 14-9 in the final of the Women's Fours at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland on Sunday.

Down 9-4 on the ninth end, the South African quartet rallied and went 4, 1,1,2,1,1 to wrap it up.
Bowls SA president Allan Freeman said he was delighted at hearing the news.
“Fantastic effort! I was choked with emotion. And on Monday the men’s Trips have a chance at another gold medal — too fantastic.
“And do not forget Colleen Piketh, what a player. She showed she belongs among the best singles players in the world, to play for bronze.”
The South African men’s triples team played superbly to reach the final, where Northern Ireland awaits.
