Gideon Sam rides for a cause

The team forms part of the “I Play Fair – Say NO! To Doping” campaign, which highlights the importance of participating in sport without taking performance enhancing drugs and respecting the spirit of sport.

“As part of Sascoc’s commitment to promote sport and fitness, I’ve taken it upon myself to get out the office and show my commitment to an active lifestyle and to the integrity of sport by leading the I Play Fair team,” Sam said in a statement on Monday.

According to the South African Institute of Drug Free Sport (SAIDS), Sam would be joined by SAIDS board members Mzwakhe Qobose and Paralympian Natalie Du Toit.
