Cycling accident keeps Coetzee off the fairways
A cycling accident has put South African professional George Coetzee in a chase to get fit for the big-money events that will close off the 2013 season.

Coetzee broke a bone in his right wrist and has been undergoing intensive treatment in the hope that he’ll be ready to play again in the European Tour’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St Andrews at the end of this month.
“I had to stop quickly on the bicycle and it didn’t work out so well. I’m trying to be ready for the Alfred Dunhill Links, but it’s going to be close,” said Coetzee.
“In terms of the golf swing, it’s an important bone,” Douglas Wood, Coetzee’s coach when he is in South Africa, said at this week’s Vodacom Origins of Golf tournament on the Sunshine Tour in Parys.
“It is involved in all types of movement in the wrist, so we need it to heal properly. But George is blessed with a lot of strength in his arms, which will help him. And he knows his body really well, so he’ll know what he needs to do and when he’s ready to go.”
