In one of the freakier things to have happened on a cricket field in a while, a delivery in a New Zealand domestic cricket match sailed over the boundary for six … after it hit the bowler’s head!
The unfortunate victim was Canterbury and former Black Caps all-rounder Andy Ellis, who was bowling to New Zealand’s current Test opener Jeet Raval.
Raval played a scorching straight drive but Ellis was in the way.
The speed of the ball was so fast that there was enough momentum off Ellis’ head for six runs to be scored.

Even the umpire didn’t initially believe it, he signalled four!

Ellis was taken off the field for a concussion test but he remarkably passed it.
