‘Good people still exist’: Rassie’s faith restored

Proteas batsman Rassie van der Dussen says his faith in humanity was lost and restored in a single day.

Sharing his story on social media, the Lions player said he had received a call from an employee at a coffee shop which he is involved in, after the employee was stabbed in an alleged robbery on Friday morning.

Though he was critical of passersby who did not stop to help, after Justin (the victim) was left with serious injuries following a ‘devastating’ attack, Van der Dussen was full of praise for the emergency medical assistance that was provided.

“I realised that, in the midst of everything happening in our country, truly good people, in every sense of the word, still offer up themselves to help others with no conditions attached,” said Van der Dussen, who has played eight Tests, 21 ODIs and 18 T20s for the SA team.
