Granted it was only a semi-professional provincial match but AB de Villiers looks ready for a return to the Proteas side.
South Africa’s one-day skipper on Sunday smashed an unbeaten 134 for Northerns in a 50-over match against Easterns in Benoni, a match he targeted for his comeback from elbow surgery.

The 32-year-old superstar provided much controversy this week after deciding to skip the Test series against New Zealand, England and Bangladesh in favour of just playing one-day cricket.
Many believe his nitpicking his Test commitments, despite Cricket South Africa denying such claims.
Nonetheless, the Proteas will be delighted that De Villiers looked so sharp.
Batting at three, he hit 19 fours and three sixes in a 103-ball stay at the crease as Northerns sailed past their target of 200.
De Villiers will now join up with the national side for the third and final T20 against Sri Lanka in Cape Town on Wednesday before taking charge of the upcoming one-day series of five matches.
