BMW Championship goes down to the wire

The series, one of the fastest growing categories in the country, boasts some 25 of the wildest BMW racers ever to straddle tarmac in this country. Earlier this year the BMW brigade joined the Super Series at Phakisa, and provided some of the day’s best spectacle.

Three contenders will fight for the overall title on Saturday. They are Gianni Giannoccaro in his Class A BMW E46 M3 CSL, The Citizen road test editor Mark Jones, in his Class C BMW E36 328i, and Dino Fameliaris in his BMW E36 M3.

Series steward Michael Broom said that to again be invited to join the Super Series was an honour. He added Kyalami was in many ways the club’s home track and massive support was expected from club members and fans.”
