Anderson back in the Top 20

South Africa's top-ranked men's tennis player Kevin Anderson was back in the top 20 in the latest ATP singles rankings released on Monday.

Anderson had slipped to 21 the previous week but clawed his way up one place after his opponent, Russian Mikhail Youzhny, retired in the first round of the Paris Masters last week, with the score at 4-6, 7-6 (7/0) 2-1.

Anderson was beaten 6-4, 6-4 by fifth seed Roger Federer in the second round.

In the men’s doubles rankings, Raven Klaasen remained at 44, having reached a career-high 43 a fortnight ago.

Chani Scheepers was still in 80th position in the WTA women’s singles rankings and 55th in the women’s doubles.

Lucas Sithole held onto the second spot in the men’s singles quads division, a position he had held since early September.

He also remained sixth in the quads doubles rankings.
