WATCH: Turffontein Primary’s Grade R learners graduate

The little ones are ready for the ‘big school’.

MEC for Health and Wellness Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko made a cameo visit at Turffontein Primary School during their Grade R graduation on November 22.

The little ones looked happy in their denim jeans, white T-shirts and sneakers. They sang and recited poems to the jubilation of their parents and teachers in attendance. They then changed to their blue gowns, the colour of the school, to receive their certificates to start the ‘big school’.

After welcoming the guests, principal Pexie Jafta introduced the school’s institutional development and support officer Dion Mbadaliga who mentioned that without Grade R the school has no future.

“Thank you to all the parents present and I’m happy that you are smiling. You need to continue to do so even next year when they are in Grade One.

“When the principal calls a meeting, you need to attend and also avoid coming to school to complain. At times come to school to thank the principal and the teachers for educating your child. The future of the school is in these little ones and I want to see them in seven years from now. Congratulations to them and we love them,” he said.
