Eagles soar at Selborne

Results were calculated by Stan Sim, Alistair Eyres and Eddie Mathews.

The Village Eagles enjoyed cool weather for their monthly game held at Selborne Park Golf Club.

There were 60 players, and with plenty of water on the course, this produced a lost ball count of 170 on the day. Philip Bacchus’s estimate was spot on.

Best lady was Pearl Lloyd on 32 individual points, and her husband, Neville Lloyd, took the men’s prize on 41 points.

Husband and wife team of Pearl and Neville Lloyd were best lady and best man on the day.

Winners on the day were Gert Pretorius, Clive Melville, Neville Lloyd and Pearl Lloyd, on an alliance score of 87 points.

Longest day and collecting the Stone Trophy was Eddie Matthews, Brian Chapple, Tony Butler and Jim Wilson on 57 points.

Results were calculated by Stan Sim, Alistair Eyres and Eddie Mathews.

Eddie presented the results, and this went without a hitch.

On the fines’ side, Derek Hodge was the master on the day, and this was, once again, well supported.

Thanks were extended to the sponsors. Next game will be at Umkomaas Golf Club on November 5.

Winners are Clive Melville (left) and Neville Lloyd, with Pearl Lloyd and Gert Pretorius, who were absent for the photo.
