Clean-up for Wild Coast beach

20 volunteers supported the cleanup and it was in collaboration with the Wild Coast Sun.

Mzinkuku Honourary Officers Teuns and Maxine Willemse embarked on a beach clean-up at the Wild Coast Sun last Saturday.

Twenty volunteers supported the clean-up, held in collaboration with the Wild Coast Sun.

They cleared up the front and side of the hotel area.

The clean-up was organised by Mzinkuku Honourary Officers.

Plastic bottles, glass bottles, chip packets, polystyrene containers and broken bits of plastic were all collected.

Maxine said the initiative was initially planned for International Beach Day on September 21, but there was heavy snowfall at that time.

“It is important to make people aware of keeping our coastline clean as the marine life is seriously affected, and some species are endangered because of the pollution,” she said.
