They appeared in the Ezinqoleni Magistrate’s Court.

Two men, aged 24 and 20, appeared in court on charges of diesel theft last week.

They were recently arrested by police after a security company provided valuable information about their activities.

It is alleged that the two men, driving a Toyota Hilux with no registration number, filled up at least 2000 litres of diesel at a garage in Paddock on a Sunday night at about 23:00 and then drove away without payment.

The fuel was estimated to be valued at around R160 000.

The men were stopped on the N2 near Thuvukezi by Port Shepstone highway patrol members. They were arrested for being in possession of suspected stolen property.

They appeared in the Ezinqoleni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday last week on charges of possession of suspected stolen property and theft.

The case has been postponed to a later date for further investigation.
