Change a child’s life this Christmas

Over the last 20 years, LUSA Community Chest has been able to make a difference every year in vulnerable children’s lives in the Vaal area by giving them a Christmas gift to show them how special and worthy they are.
“We have discovered that many children’s organisations have not received their normal government funding since January. Their financial situation is dire, to a point that these organisations are in need of food to keep tummies full and to keep children healthy. This year we would like to support these children by donating food and then topping it up with something nice to eat over the festive season,” says Retha Jacobs, coordinator of LUSA’s Wish-Upon-A-Star Christmas project.
“If we have enough funding we would also hope to make sure the children have enough toiletries and toys. Our aim is to assist more than 400 children in 13 children’s organisations in the Vaal.”
LUSA invites local companies and the general public to stand in unity with the Community Chest and work together as a community to reach this goal.

How to donate and become involved in the Winter Warm Project:
• Companies can contribute any amount towards this project, as part of their CSI Investment.
• A company can also encourage employees to be involved by raising funds or collecting food or toiletries as an employee engagement.
• Any church, school, organisation or individual can sponsor by contributing any once-off amount into LUSA Community Chest’s Bank Account, or sponsor a collection of food and/or toiletries.
