Safe City programme to be explored

Chairperson of the forum, Neville Burnett, said Sector 2 is looking to implement a Safe City programme which will involve all Resident Associations within the jurisdiction.

 

Honeydew’s Sector 2 Community Policing Forum is looking to explore other avenues in their constant fight against crime.

Chairperson of the forum, Neville Burnett, said Sector 2 is considering implementing a Safe City programme which will involve all Resident Associations within the jurisdiction.

“All the Resident Associations in the sector have been asked to participate and residents are requested to please help them with their information-gathering,” he said.

The 15 Resident Associations expected to participate in the area are:

Randridge RA, RiverWel RA, Welridge RA, Devon Valley RA, Welview RA, Allens Nek RA, Panorama RA, RAG 14 RA, Constantia Village RA, Constantia Kloof RA, Allen Glen RA, Bontelsie Park RA, VTS RA, Eastwood Block Watch RA and Rock Crime Watch.

Burnett explained that the information-gathering part of the initiative will include reporting on crime hot spots and municipal-related issues in the area.
