Children learn baking skills

Hirsch’s and Whirlpool taught children how to bake and decorate cupcakes at Hirsch’s Centurion on Saturday.

Children of Hirsch’s customers had an opportunity of being taught how to bake at Hirsch’s Centurion on Saturday.

It was a joy and excitement as a number of children got their hands dirty participating in the Kiddies Cooking Class.

Some children impressed baking teachers with amazing creativity when decorating cupcakes.

A pupil Boikanyo Maluleka (11) said the Kiddies Cooking Class was memorable.

“It was fun. I really enjoyed my day while learning how to bake and decorate cupcakes,” Maluleka said.

Hirsch’s PRO, Joanne Brunette, said the class was their way together with Whirlpool of giving back to the community.

“Most parents do not know what to do with their children after the December holidays. We decided to get them involved in doing something exciting,” Brunette said.

Children who attended the cooking class were between 2 and 15 years old.
