Vicki Momberg hands herself over to Douglasdale police

DOUGLASDALE – Momberg was said to be 'on the run' from authorities since a warrant for her arrest was issued on 1 August.

Convicted racist Vicki Momberg has handed herself over to Douglasdale Police Station after she was allegedly on the run from the authorities since a warrant for her arrest was issued on 1 August.

Gauteng police spokesperson Brigadier Mathapelo Peters confirmed that Momberg did hand herself over to investigators at the Douglasdale Police Station after a brief consultation between the police and her legal representatives.

Peters said, “Police have processed Miss Momberg and she will be handed over to the prosecuting authorities at Randburg Magistrates’ Court.”

Momberg was found guilty on four counts of crimen injuria for calling a black police officer the k-word 48 times, all caught on camera, after a smash-and-grab incident in 2016.

According to our sister publication The Citizenthe warrant for her arrest was issued after she failed to present herself to the clerk of the Randburg Magistrate’s Court after her appeal failed, to serve her sentence.

She was sentenced to three years imprisonment in March last year, of which one year was suspended.
