The Ikageng SAPS are investigating an attempted murder case after a 16-year-old girl from Ikageng complained about stomach cramps last week Saturday after allegedly being offered cookies by an unknown woman.
Ikageng SAPS spokesperson, Const. Kelebogile Trom says the teenager complained to the mother about stomach cramps. She told her mother that she had eaten cookies from a stranger at about 19:00.
According to the teenager, she only realised that the cookies contained blue pills after she had eaten them and suspects that they had caused the stomach cramps.
“At about 23:00 she was rushed to the Potchefstroom Hospital. The doctor who examined her told her the stomach cramps were caused by food poisoning,” Trom said.
She advised parents to tell their children not to accept goodies or money from strangers.
