Free State Stars and Orlando Pirates were locked at 0-0 in an entertaining Absa Premiership match at Goble Park Stadium on Wednesday night.

Pirates dominated possession in this half, but they wasted good opportunities to take the lead.

The first good chance fell to Thamsanqa Gabuza when he intercepted a pass from Paulus Masehe and found himself on a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper on the 21st minute, but he shot straight at Daouda Diakite.

Nine minutes later Gift Motupa also found himself on a one-on-one situation from a Thabo Matlaba pass, but his first touch let him down and the ball went out for a goal kick.

Stars failed to create any clear scoring chances in the first half.

The game remained 0-0 at the half-time break.
