University of Pretoria coach Shaun Bartlett wants his players to take responsibility for the losses they suffered this season.

AmaTuks find themselves in the relegation zone after collecting only 13 points from the 19 league games played so far this season. They are five points above bottom-placed Maritzburg United.

AmaTuks’ latest defeat came at the hands of Pretoria neighbours, SuperSport United on Sunday afternoon.

Bartlett’s team went into the half-time break trailing 1-0 after Sibusiso Khumalo gave Matsatsantsa the lead in the first half.

They created a number of scoring opportunities in the second half but failed to bury their chances.

Thuso Phala’s 85th minute goal sealed it for United and gave Stuart Baxter his second victory as Matsatsantsa coach.

“When you are in this position you’re going to come in here every week and moan about officiating, but also the players need to take responsibility. I think I counted about ten chances in the second half. If you can’t put one away you’re always going to have your backs against the wall,” Bartlett told the PSL’s website.
