Niang pleased with AmaZulu move

Newly signed AmaZulu striker Mame Niang is excited with playing in the National First Division after signing for AmaZulu in the January transfer period.

Niang’s move from Mamelodi Sundowns to the KZN outfit is subject to a medical test set for Friday afternoon according to the club’s website, Niang has never played in the NFD during his time in South Africa.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge. It’s something new for me to play in the First Division after playing in the PSL all these years. I’m excited to play under Steve Barker again. He is a good coach who knows what he is doing,” said the 31 year old striker.

In their quest to return to the Absa Premiership Usuthu have signed six players during this transfer.

“I’m a different kind of striker compared to others. If I bring what I have in the team and the other players bring the quality they have, we should be able to achieve our goal this season.”

The towering Senegalese is well travelled, having played for Moroka Swallows, SuperSport United, German Bundesliga side VFL Wolfsburg and Viking FK in the Norwegian Premier League.
