Thabo Matlaba believes Orlando Pirates will fire in Saturday’s Soweto derby despite their recent poor form.

The Buccaneers lost 1-0 to Jomo Cosmos on Saturday and sit a lowly 11th on the Absa Premiership log.

“We lost to Cosmos, but that doesn’t discourage us, the coach has been encouraging us to do well, we are going to the derby and it will be a different story. We don’t need motivation we just have to play our normal game,” said Matlaba.

The Pirates captain also revealed that the players had a meeting to discuss what was going wrong after the Cosmos game.

“After we lost to Cosmos we called a meeting with the players and talked about why we were losing so much. The coaches were not there … I think those problems are solved now.”
