Following their 1-1 draw against Maritzburg United on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says his team is sick and tired of draws.
Amakhosi needed a stoppage time goal from Reneilwe Letsholonyane to snatch a draw against a gallant Team of Choice at Harry Gwala Stadium.
It was Amakhosi’s sixth draw in the league this season.
“We want to improve on these draws, because we are sick and tired of them,” Komphela told the club’s official website.
Komphela, however, remains positive that Chiefs will defend their Absa Premiership title this season.
“We are still on track to retain the championship, even though we are three points short of our target.”
“The long break may have affected our rhythm a bit. On the other hand, we welcome it as it will also help us to refresh the team. It gives those who are nursing injuries time to recover and be ready for the cup final and our last league match this year.”
Chiefs’ next league game is against the table-topping Bidvest Wits outfit on December 19, but prior to that Amakhosi will face their arch-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout final on December 16.
