Komphela compliments Pirates after Derby loss

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela, complimented Orlando Pirates for bringing their A game and executing their plans well.

Chiefs went down 3-1 to arch-rivals Pirates in the Soweto derby on Saturday.

“A loss is a loss, but worse so against Orlando Pirates. We’ll have to go back and assess, then respond.

“We can’t look at the result alone, we have to assess because we’ve lost two big games. Our actions and reactions were not prompted … that’s where we fell short,” said Komphela.

Chiefs will be in action again on Tuesday when they host the in-form Golden Arrows at FNB Stadium, while Pirates are away to Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday.

Both teams will take part in midweek league action with their minds set on Saturday when they take on each other again, this time in a Telkom Knockout semifinal encounter.
