Kaizer Chiefs have explained why the meeting between the club and former players Itumeleng Khune and Mandla Masango, scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed.

Earlier Phakaaathi reported that Khune and Masango have been called back for a meeting with club bosses, where they will finally find out whether the club will keep them on.

However, that meeting didn’t take place.

“The meeting didn’t take place because some people, who were to form part of the talks were not available. The meeting will take place sometime this week. Unfortunately I have not been given the exact day as to when it will take place, but it’s definitely this week,” Chiefs Corporate Communications Manager Vina Maphosa told Phakaaathi.

It is believed that one of the people who was not available for the meeting is the club’s football Manager Bobby Motaung.

Motaung is said to be out of the country.
