Moroka Swallows are said to be up for sale with a number of interested buyers having lined up to purchase one of the oldest clubs in the country.

Swallows suffered the misfortune of being relegated to the National First Division (NFD) for the first time in the club’s illustrious career.

As they prepare for life in the first division, they could do so with new owners.

The club has already lost some seasoned campaigners like Lerato Chabangu, Vuyisile Wana, Lantshene Phalane and Shere Lekgothoane while former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Josta Dlala trains with them.

They are not the only team that is rumoured to be up for sale as Roses United is also in the same boat.

According to a source close to Roses, the club owner Max Tshabalala, who’s also the owner of Bloemfontein Celtic, feels that it’s a waste of money to have two teams campaigning in the same ABC Motsepe League.

Celtic already have a feeder team called Celtic Colts playing in the ABC Motsepe League.
