Mhone: Jomo here to stay

Malawian international Miciam Mhone is adamant Jomo Cosmos will not be relegated back to the NFD at the end of the next season.

The latest addition to Ezinkosi, Mhone, who hopes to take the Absa Premiership by storm, has set himself lofty achievements. The nippy Jomo Cosmos midfielder who was one of the star performers at the eTV Charity Showdown at the Lucas Moripe Stadium this previous weekend, says he wants to end the season as the highest goal scorer.
Mhone, is one of aa contingent of players that recently joined Cosmos.

The others are: Mohammad Sulumba (Blantyre United, Malawi), Sibusiso Mdamba (African Warriors), Pako Mahaabo (Maluti FET College), Michael Gumede (Thanda Royal Zulu), Uhuru Seleman (Simba, Tanzania), Conrad Madolo (Garankuwa United), Mxolisi Macuphu (Royal Eagles). “Jomo is a very good coach,” said Mhone, “and we are looking good with every practice match we are having and I believe we will be ready when the season starts. “I don’t think we will go down, we have a young team that will make the league exciting.”

Mhone, who impressed in the recent Cosafa Cup in South Africa, said he is aiming for an award at the end of the season.  “I signed a two-year deal with Cosmos,” he said.

“I will be working hard this season and I want to finish as the top goal scorer.” Cosmos are said to be waiting for the arrival of Moroka Swallows veteran Siyabonga Nomvethe.
