Royal Eagles have dismissed reports linking former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi with a move to the club.

“No, we’re not interested in Nkosi,” said Eagles general manager Richard Makhoba.

Nkosi was one of the high profile players released by Chiefs at the end of the season, with the other ones being Katlego Mphela and Josta Dladla.

Itumeleng Khune, Mandla Masango and Tefu Mashamaite were the other players who left Amakhosi following a breakdown in negotiations.

Khune and Masango are said to be keen to return to the team, while Mashamaite is on trial at New York City FC.

Meanwhile, Makhoba has confirmed that Eagles have left Durban for Pietermaritzburg.

“Yes, we have moved to Pietermaritzburg. As for our home venue for next season, we’ll announce it next week.”
