Rantie had still not turned up in camp by Thursday morning, as Bafana prepare for Saturday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Gambia in Durban.
The AFC Bournemouth striker had his traditional wedding last weekend and his white wedding is said to be scheduled for Saturday, the same day that Bafana play.
Erasmus, meanwhile, tweeted on Wednesday evening: “Im not no backup player #KE95,” an apparent indication of his unwillingness to replace Rantie in the Bafana squad.
Rantie’s absence does leave Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba short of striking options for Saturday’s game.
