Sarivahy Vombola – the Madagascar striker, who finished as the top goalscorer in the Cosafa Cup – is set to join Jomo Cosmos in top flight football next season.

Ezenkosi gained promotion from the National First Division after winning the promotional play-offs ahead of Black Leopards and Moroka Swallows.

The side ended that campaign with a 1-0 win over Swallows at Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday.

Cosmos boss Jomo Sono revealed that he will be signing four players from the Cosafa Cup.

“We have been speaking to few players because we knew that we would be promoted,” Sono said.

“There are few players who have not played the whole season, in fairness, we should give them a chance to go play somewhere because if they couldn’t play in the Mvela (NFD), how can they play in the Premier League? It doesn’t make sense.

“We won’t mention names now. But we have signed players from (the Cosafa Cup) but we haven’t finalised things with the clubs. I will be going to Mozambique. It’s two players from Mozambique and one from Madagascar so you can guess which one were good. We will also sign one from Namibia.”

Sono will use his relationship with Mozambique coach, Joao Chissano, to seal the deal with the two Mozambicans.

Chissano is a former Cosmos defender and he stressed the importance of them winning promotion after the Cosafa Cup final on Sunday.

Sono confirmed that the side will play their matches in Parys having been based in Vaal for their successful NFD campaign.
