Shakes Mashaba has had to reshuffle this squad where he had hoped to give Under-17 national team defender Dlala a taste of the senior national team setup while Alexander and Tlolane are fighting for regular places in Bafana Bafana after good domestic league performances.
Segolela, Nyanda and Manyama were called up in the 11th hour, and missed out on the two training matches Bafana Bafana had in Lesotho before they face Botswana in the Cosafa Cup quarterfinals on Sunday.
The outfit got a bye in the group stages that are currently ongoing where the two group winners will join Bafana Bafana, Botswana, Ghana, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi in the eight.
“We have been trying to look at different combinations going forward,” Bafana Bafana assistant coach Thabo Senong said. “We know that tournament football demands results and you can only get results when players are well integrated and understand the coach’s philosophy and game approach.”
Mashaba and his technical team will get to look at Manyama, Segolela and Nyanda when they play a practise match against fellow quarterfinalists Malawi on Thursday.
