Following a string of poor results that saw the team languishing at the bottom half of the Absa Premiership log, Platinum Stars have placed coach Allan Freese on special leave and put assistant coach Willem Jackson in charge of the team.

“Allan Freese is on Special Leave to allow an internal performance target review process to take place.

“The Assistant Coach, Willem Jackson will in the meantime be in charge of the team,” read a statement issued by club chairman Cliff Ramoroa on Stars official twitter account.

Jackson’s first game in charge of Stars will be against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 on Sunday.
