Qalinge has been missing from action since August after he sustained an injury.
The former Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder has not risen to the expectations he was earmarked for when he joined in the close season.
Qalinge has failed to command a regular place in the Sea Robbers side but against City the player is looking at making an appearance.
“I always want to do well for myself and the team, and to score goals where possible and against whoever I play, not just Polokwane,” he told his club website.
Qalinge is competing with Sfiso Myeni for the first team place and at this stage it has been the former Bidvest Wits player who caretaker coach Eric Tinkler prefers.
Qalinge has scored in Pirates’ previous meetings against City and perhaps, even tomorrow night at Orlando Stadium, he will be expecting to hit the net against Rise and Shine.
Under Kosta Papic, City have been impressive and this is something Qalinge believes could be an ingredient for a good game.
“They like attacking football so we should hopefully see an entertaining and open game,” he said.
City are fifth on the table with 28 points while the Sea Robbers are fourth with 32.
The match starts at 6pm.
