Amajimbos ready for African Championships

The South African under-17 national team (Amajimbos) are adding their final touches ahead of the Caf African Youth Championships to be played in Niger later this month.

The South Africans are in group B, alongside Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Cameroon, while group A consists of hosts Niger, Guinea, Nigeria and Zambia.

Amajimbos play their final preparation match against a Safa regional team in Port Elizabeth on Thursday.

Coach Molefi Ntseki said the team was raring to go for the continental showdown.

“We are finalising our preparations for this important tournament and people of PE must give us a rousing goodbye. We are concluding most of our preparations this week before we head for Niamey, the capital city of Niger,” Ntseki said.
