Bafana Bafana’s attempt to get home from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations was stifled on Wednesday, as the charter plane they thought they were taking from Mongomo to Libreville never turned up.

The South African team arrived at Mongomoyen Airport with all their bags in tow in the afternoon, expecting to fly to Libreville and catch a late flight to Johannesburg.

A press conference was even scheduled for 6.30am at OR Tambo International airport. Unfortunately, a mix-up in communication between the team and the Confederation of African Football meant that they were forced to return to their base at the Hotel Mongomo.

South Africans took it to Twitter to express their views on the incident that left the national team missing their scheduled press conference.
