Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mashego says they guard against underestimating AmaZulu when the two meet in the last-eight round of the Telkom Knockout.

Speaking at the PSL headquarters this afternoon, Mahoota adds that they current league form Downs have been enjoying will play a huge role in their success in the tournament.

I don’t think there is any weak team in the competition, said Mashego.

What we have to do is keep the belief and win the match against AmaZulu.

They are a strong team and I think there wont be any play that would underestimate them.

The Tshwane giants knocked their neighbours University of Pretoria out of the competition at the weekend, winning 2-1 after extra-time. Mashego though, added that it is now important for Downs to find consistency and get positive results without stopping.

The Brazilians have now gone four games unbeaten in all competitions. They are currently enjoying a fourth spot position on the PSL log.

“A victory is important for us, said Mashego.

“We have been doing well so far and its important we keep the results coming, so beating AmaZulu would actually ensure that. But we are ready and we hope to progress further in the competition.”
