Sono blames agents for Bafana woes

Jomo Cosmos boss Jomo Sono says there are players who did not deserve to be in the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sono believes agents influence squad selection and that players are not getting called upon merit.

“I can name two players, but I won’t mention names because they are professional players. If I do I’ll be destroying their careers. But I don’t know how they got there. They should never have been there,” said Sono.

“Bafana need a coach who will select the players not by what he is told and by who he is told to. That is the impression I get when I look at Bafana from a distance.

“Most of the players, who are in the team belong to the same agent. An agent would have six or seven players in the national team.

“I had the same problem when I was a coach. I’m talking from experience. But they never got closer to me because I’m crazy.”
