Molangoane, the ‘boy’ with a ‘big heart’, signed a three-year deal with Chiefs on Friday.

Joseph Molangoane says he was swayed to join Kaizer Chiefs by the brand of football associated with the team, as well as the opportunity to work with Steve Komphela again.

Molangoane, who signed a three-year deal with Chiefs on Friday, worked with Komphela at Platinum Stars.

“The coach was a very big factor for me. He showed me from the beginning that he really wanted me,” said Molangoane.

“The team has some fantastic players in their ranks, and I have admired their style of play for a while now. I grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs. Coming here is a dream come true for me, and my main goal now is play football and to contribute positively to the success of the club.”

Meanwhile, Komphela has welcomed Molangoane’s addition to his squad.

“This is a welcome addition to the squad. His qualities are unquestionable. The ‘boy’ has a big heart. As small as he is, he is one of the bravest players I have ever come across. We welcome him and look forward to his contribution.”
