Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has moved to assure SA Under-23 supporters he will be fit for the Olympic Games.

Khune gave Owen da Gama and his coaching staff a scare when he limped off the pitch, just 10 minutes after coming on as a substitute during the SA Under-23 friendly match against Bidvest Wits on Monday.

This raised fears that he could miss the Rio Olympics, however the 29-year-old goalkeeper later revealed on his Twitter account that it was nothing more than a minor issue.

“Nothing serious good people. It’s just a bruise but I will be OK,” tweeted Khune.

Khune and Mathoho are the two over-aged players selected to be part of the SA Under-23 Olympic Team.
